Sailing away

Well we're currently sitting in Charleston waiting out some weather before heading North to Boston with a quick stop in NYC. Had a great sail with the "Grumpy Old Men". The fist day it was rainy and blowing 15-20kts I loved it, spent 4 hours on the helm that night making 11-12kts the whole time. Half of the passengers where a little queasy and 4-5 where chumming for sharks. The next 3 days where light and we had to motor sail for a day. We stopped at Cumberland Island for the better part of one day before heading out in the evening. Had a few exciting watches, the picture above is when a pod of about 20 dolphins decided to escort us. Alex saw them coming from the distance and it was cool seeing them heading for the boat from off the bow in a huge pack. Then they hung out and played on our bow wake for about 20min. Later that day just about dusk I saw flares off our starboard beam and woke the Captain. He contacted the Coast Guard and while we where waiting for them to check on exercises we realized it was two fighter jets playing above us dropping flares. Just then a huge sonic boom shook the boat as one of them got a little greedy with the throttle. Well I'm off for now I'll try to get more pics and videos up soon.
